The Village


The base of our online store, as well as our bricks and mortar store, is in Havelock North.  Locally know as the Village, its a great place to meet friends, drink coffee, do some shopping, have lunch and just hang out.  Officially awarded New Zealand's most beautiful village 2017. 

We wanted to share our view of life in this corner of the world with you and some of our favourite places.  Of course the village is filled with lots more small boutique shops, restaurants and cafes, to find out about them why not drop by and visit Havelock North yourself.

Maina best cafe in Havelock North
Maina : Havelock North has got to be cafe central for Hawkes Bay There is no better place to grab a coffee and relax watching the world go by.  We are spoiled for choice and will probably feature quite a few in our journal.  Top of the list has to be Maina.  read more.....

The Village Butcher : Shop local and knowing the provenance of  each of our products is a big part of our lives.  Food is also a big part of our lives, Peter does most of the cooking with some occasional baking from me.  Authenticity of what we eat matters, knowing where the food we eat comes from matters.  read more.....
